SanDisk separated from Western Digital in February 2025 and once again became an independently traded company. They couldn't have picked a better time for this spin-off, because demand for their products shot up sharply and the stock has already risen by more than 450% this year. I don't own any shares, but I enjoy watching it.

What do you think about this story? Is anyone here invested in $SNDK?

I have other stocks and I'm not at all upset that I didn't buy $SNDK. Right now, stocks in this sector are probably the fastest-growing, and I think that will remain the case through 2030.

Whether the timing was ideal is anyone’s guess. If they had waited a few months, they would have been putting shares on the market at a completely different price. As it stands, the market benefited more than WD did, but apparently they recently still sold off a “small” amount for about $3 billion.
