buy for 99 USD, 1/3 sell at 350 USD, 1/3 set at 599 USD and 1/3 HOLD

A brilliant strategy. I also use dividing positions into thirds. Mostly in trading, but also in investing.

I partially took profits (selling 15% of my position) in 2 steps – at $520 and then at $575.

I plan to hold the rest for now; any further partial profit taking I see only around $800.

Super job! Up to $800? Not that it's impossible, but it's above all estimates. That $700 seems a bit better to me :)

I'm still holding $AMD. I don't want to sell, I agree with the comment from @alesbudinsky that I'll hold for a few more years.

If that position doesn't grow to, say, a third of the portfolio, where it would make sense to trim it in certain cases, why not.

Probably the ideal solution. Until it is realized, it is just on paper and after such growth it makes sense to lock in at least some profit.

I'm holding and will keep holding for at least another 2 years. The original plan was to sell at $300, then after the results at $600. Plans change, and I like the change to a holding strategy much better and it suits me far more.

Not every stock allows you to take profit at the peak. I sold Nvidia $NVDA at $100 in today's prices, for example.
