I'm rarely negative, but I'd like to comment on this and discuss it with you, because I'm interested in your opinion!

I wouldn't like to drag politics into this, although with yesterday's Babiš post I was pretty close. :D

But this really interests me, since it's also a big investment topic.

Yesterday $GOOG got fined 890 million euros by the European Union for favoring its own services.

So I looked through the statistics and came across this graph.

The European Union probably earns more money from fining Big Tech than from income taxes from European technology companies.

Personally, I see it as a pretty big middle finger to the big technology companies, which don't exist anywhere but the US.

In Europe, we have no strong players in the technology industry, except for $ASML, without which the world's tech companies couldn't do.

But this comparison seems very sad to me personally, and I hope it won't be like this for long in the future...

How do you see this? Do you think Europe is lagging behind technologically?

After all these years, the EU has found that it’s easier for them to win a court case than to collect taxes. They probably have their goals calculated, that it’s better for them this way ;)

I agree, but how long it will last I don't know :D
