There is sometimes talk about the $DAX-2.0% index, and I recently realized that I don't really know what companies are in that index.

The most important and well-known stocks that the DAX index contains :

Adidas

Allianz

BASF

Deutsche Bank

Deutsche Post

Deutsche Telekom

DAX
$32.86 -$0.66 -1.98%

The DAX is up more than 15% this year, which of course is nice.

I've been wondering whether to invest in the DAX and I have to say I don't know much. I don't want to buy specific German stocks and thus the DAX would be a great alternative. However, I don't know whether to invest in DAX when I already have a portfolio diversified enough and have bought other ETFs.

I would appreciate your opinion and your view on the DAX index.

Germany is central to the European economy so this index can be and is used as a reflection of that.

I haven't studied it much, but when I see the chart, I don't even know if I'd want them in my portfolio. Up sharply, down sharply and over and over 😀

There are super stocks out there, hence the growth. But it's still too much (for me)

Right now it's a mega rally to new heights. Expensive for me at the moment, but it may not get any cheaper.
