Apple plans $1 billion investment in manufacturing in Indonesia

- iPhone 16 ban: Indonesia has imposed a ban on iPhone 16 sales due to non-compliance with local content requirements (minimum 40% of parts).

- Planned investment: $AAPL announced a $1 billion investment in a new manufacturing plant in Indonesia that will produce components for smartphones and other devices.

- Higher requirements: the Indonesian government plans to increase the requirement for local content, prompting $AAPL to negotiate a more significant investment.

- Rejection of previous offer: the government rejected $AAPLs proposal for a $100 million investment as insufficient to lift the ban.

- Apple's previous activities: $AAPL has been running app developer academies in Indonesia since 2018 , but has not yet set up any manufacturing facilities there.

Interesting news and thanks for the info. It's good that Apple is diversifying and has those factories/plants somewhere else.
