🥩 Tyson Foods: strong quarter despite market pressure!
Tyson Foods $TSN reported fiscal Q2 2025 results and confirmed that even in an environment of high market uncertainty, solid numbers can be achieved. Although the macroeconomic environment (tariffs, costs, consumer behavior) remains turbulent, Tyson delivered its fourth consecutive quarter of growth across key metrics.

📊 Key numbers:
Revenue: $13.1 billion, includes a decrease of $343 million. USD 343 million due to legal costs
Adjusted operating profit: 515 million. USD 515 MILLION (+27%)
EPS (non-GAAP): +48% y/y
Free cash flow: 382 mil. USD
Dividends paid: 349 million. USD 349 since the beginning of the year

🍗 Segment results:
Chicken: nearly double operating profit - best Q2 result since 2016
Pork: +67% y/y gain - highest Q2 result in 3 years
Prepared Foods: margin +50 bpsy/y , double-digit margin
Logistics & Distribution: company optimizes infrastructure to achieve annual savings of $200mn. USD 200million by 2030

⚠️ Risks and challenges:
Beef segment remains under pressure due to limited cattle availability and thinning margins

One-off legal costs (USD 343 million) impacted the bottom line

Outlook unchanged, despite good quarter, firm points to high tariff risk and volatility in consumer behavior

Further investment in the chicken division may weigh on operating profit in the short term

Shares have responded by falling more than 9%, and have written down more than 40% from their highs!

Tyson Foods thus shows that an emphasis on a diversified product portfolio can bear fruit even in challenging conditions. Yet the company remains cautious and is not raising its outlook, which is understandable given political tensions and unexpected decisions Donald Trump's. On the other hand, growth in EPS, strong free cash flow and a stable dividend make TSN an interesting title.

What do you think of Tyson?

I'm not too impressed either, and those duties can probably cause them a lot of problems.

These companies are just bad at business right now. I've got some shares and I'm gonna hold on.

The stock isn't actually up much and I don't see much reason to invest in this company.
