Waste Management | Q2 2025: strong revenue and cash flow growth, driven by waste collection and sustainable energy

Waste Management, now operating under the WM brand, delivered results in the second quarter of 2025 that confirm steady growth and the successful expansion of the business towards sustainable solutions. The company increased revenue 19% year-over-year to $6.43 billion and was able to significantly boost operating and net income. The Collection & Disposal, Recycling and Renewable Energy segments were the main drivers, while the newly integrated WM Healthcare Solutions division is gradually fitting into the overall strategy.

Both operating cash flow and free cash flow grew at a rate that exceeded initial expectations. As a result, the company raised its full-year free cash flow outlook, despite unfavorable recycled commodity pricing. As a result,$WM is demonstrating that it can effectively optimize costs, improve margins and benefit from investments in advanced technology and sustainable growth, even in a more challenging environment.
