Korea is opening the skies to electric aviation, and this company stands to benefit
In a segment where only a few years ago we were talking about science fiction, billion-dollar contracts are now being signed. Electric Vertical Mobility (eVTOL) is slowly moving from the experimental phase to real-world operation - and one of its main pioneers, has just won its first truly global partnership. The deal with Korean Air, South Korea's largest airline, could mark a major step towards commercialising a technology that has the ambition to rewrite the history of urban transport.

The company analyzed today, backed by Stellantis, United Airlines and Boeing, among others, becomes the first U.S. manufacturer to penetrate Asia with a concrete deployment of its aircraft. Korean Air plans to buy up to 100 units of the Midnightan all-electric eVTOL designed for short urban and suburban flights. The technology is intended to replace hour-long traffic movements with ten- to 20-minute flights with minimal emissions.
