Nu Holdings: another quarter that reinforces my long-term thesis 📈
In my view, Nu Holdings has delivered another very strong quarter. Revenue grew 39% year over year to nearly $5.9 billion, and net income topped $1 billion for the first time in its history. Profit was up 49% year over year.
I also view ROE very positively, reaching 33%, which I think beautifully shows how Nu is managing to grow not just in customer count but also in profitability. Risk-adjusted net interest margin also hit a record 12.4%.
Nu now has almost 139 million customers and continues to grow in Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia. Mexico is particularly interesting, with over 16 million customers, and it has also obtained a banking license.
Of course, I still mainly watch the quality of the loan portfolio and delinquencies, because that's where I see the biggest risk to future growth. But current results show that Nu can grow very quickly while significantly boosting profitability.
Nu Holdings is also one of my favorite positions, and I invest in the company regularly. So I don't focus on individual quarters so much in terms of whether the stock just went up or down, but mainly on whether the underlying business is improving over the long term.
And so far, the results keep confirming that it is.
