Let's open up a discussion about AMC Entertainment.

I don't want to write a review on this company, so I decided to rather just in the form of a post here to expand the debate, hopefully it will be comprehensive. I'll admit that emotions are influencing me here. I don't have rose colored glasses anymore and I know that there is foul play in the world. Especially in the world of finance. I've seen some interesting documentaries, for example on $GME-0.8%, how it went up tremendously and then came down again, how the managers of the big hadg funds can move the market, etc.

AMC
$5.05 $0.02 +0.40%

Of course I had no idea about this at the beginning of investing, so I bought this company $AMC+0.4%. Already after a big move. At the time I thought it bottomed out, at a price of $19. Luckily with a $100 deposit (I was starting out). I love going to the movies, even though they are streamy, I believed and still believe that people won't stop liking the classic, going to the movies rather than just being cooped up at home. I didn't know much about analysis yet, so I just bought it. (I know, mistake) :)

Anyway, I don't write for pity, nor do I take it that way, every loss teaches you something. Anyway, can anyone here talk more about how it is that these fluctuations happen? (I don't want to use the words manipulation and such, as I don't fully understand it yet) How for a company that can never have such value, suddenly the price skyrockets by 100s of % to then fall again, and it's not just this company as I mention at the beginning.

Also, what happens then that the stock splits into some "meme"? You get a cut, but still their value falls?

Not to write only negatively before the results. So those are the good ones I've read so far in the forecast today. After the pandemic, the company has started making money again. They expect a loss per share of 17 cents, which would be a 73% improvement. Revenues around $937 million. Up 20% from the year-ago period.

Here are the cash earnings

People are slow to go to the movies again. Unfortunately, the company's debt is huge and some venues have not reopened. Let me not make this any longer as this is not a review, article, but I am simply interested in your opinion. Objective! Since I find that I often see information on the web subjectively colored with the addition that it's a scam and the company is already dead, bankrupt, etc.

I still hold the position, currently with a 40% loss as I bought a few shares with a price of $4 a piece and that diluted the drop. And I'm thinking, is this really a scam and going bust or are the biggest cinema chains here to stay?
