The Home Depot $HD reported results this week, with sales of $37.7 billion. That's a 3% drop compared to the previous year. I had the company in my portfolio earlier and I'm glad I sold its stock in the end. How do you feel about the company?
May I ask what the reason for the sale was? I hold their competition $LOW and even though the sector is not doing so well at the moment, I have not considered selling. It's a relatively defensive sector where the duopoly rules and even though it's "boring" retail, they have much better margins than they do on groceries or clothing.
I was buying 2017 and selling at the beginning of 2022. There were a few things that I figured were more likely to go down, so I took a profit (but maybe I'm giving myself too much credit and just hit it by accident). Now I don't see anything wrong with them, but nothing super good enough to make me want to jump back in
