Mercedes-Benz is a luxury automaker known for its long tradition of innovation and quality. The company was founded in 1926, distinguished by the production of high-end vehicles that combine elegant design, advanced technology and outstanding performance. Mercedes-Benz focuses on sustainability and eco-innovation and therefore invests heavily in the development of electric vehicles and sustainable production processes. Their models are synonymous with comfort, safety and prestige, making Mercedes-Benz one of the most respected brands in the automotive industry.
The company has lowered its full-year outlook for automotive margins to 10-11 % from the original range 10-12 %. Although consensus estimates already indicated the lower end of this range. 📊
Analysts have also raised concerns about high retailer inventories, particularly in USwhich could lead to downward pressure on margins in the second half of the year 2024 and possibly even in 2025. 🏛️
Despite these challenges, the company reported group earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) of EUR 4.0 billion, down from last year's EUR 5.0 billion, but still maintained double-digit profit margins in a challenging market. 📉💶
TheMercedes-Benz Cars segment posted a profit increase, with EBITmargin reaching 10,2 %. However, this was at the lower end of the full-year guidance range and fell short of analysts' estimates. The company attributed the shortfall to weaker sales volumes. 🚘🔍
On the positive side, theMercedes-Benz Vans division achieved a sales revenue of 17,5 %, which was supported by lower material costs. In contrast , theMobilitydivision faced a worse performance due to higher credit risk costs and negative effects on volume and margin. 🚐📈
It will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds and what steps it takes Mercedes-Benz to maintain its market position.
Can Mercedes strike a balance between electric and internal combustion vehicles?
What do you think of European car companies, do you think they are over for good?
It's creating an interesting discount there. I think European car companies will survive, but they will simply have a harder time than those from China.
Well, the last few years after the pandemic, when the market was overwhelmed, are slowly fading. The company could get better numbers in the next few years. The price is already interesting, ame if it were even lower, it would be better😁Who has the stock now?
