Apple teams up with Airtel to fight for Indian music and TV streaming market

- Strategic Partnership: $AAPL has partnered with Bharti Airtel, India's second largest telecom company, to gain a competitive advantage in the digital content market in India.

- Free streamingAirtel : The deal includes free music and video streaming for many of Airtel's 281 million customers, which is expected to significantly expand the user base of Apple TV+ and Apple Music in India.

- Strengthening Market Presence :$AAPL, which has only a 6% share of the Indian smartphone market, is looking to strengthen its position and increase its presence in the region with this move.

- Growth Challenges: Airtel plans to offer bundles with several months of free access to Apple TV+, but growth may be limited due to lack of localised content on the platform.

This is a really strategic move. India will grow strongly in the coming decades and if Apple gets a foothold there this early on, it will benefit for a long time.
