Home Depot | 1Q 2025: Sales Growth, New Stores, and Fiscal Year Outlook Confirmed

Home Depot released results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2025, showing steady revenue growth at $39.9 billion, up 9.4% year-over-year. Although comparable sales declined slightly by 0.3%, the U.S. domestic market saw a slight increase of 0.2%. The company also faced the unfavorable impact of foreign exchange movements, which depressed results by approximately 70 basis points. However, net profit fell slightly year-on-year from $3.6 billion to $3.4 billion, which was reflected in the decline in earnings per share.

CEO Ted Decker assessed the results as in line with expectations, highlighting continued customer interest in smaller domestic projects and the spring seasonal mix. Home Depot also reaffirmed its outlook for the full fiscal year 2025, with moderate sales growth expected and new store openings planned.
