Qualcomm $QCOM strengthens its market presence. This time it is targeting UK technology company Alphawave $AWE.L, which it has decided to take over for around $2.4 billion, a cash offer of 183 pence per share means 96% premium to the end-March price.

Arm was also originally interested in Alphawave (owned by SoftBank)but backed out of the deal.
