🧱 Danish building-block maker Lego increased its net profit year on year by 32% to 8.6 billion Danish kroner, or about 27.7 billion CZK. Revenue grew by more than 20%, helped among other things by new products tied to Formula 1 and the soccer World Cup, which attracted more customers.
Lego isn't just interesting as a company, though. Some people also treat it as a somewhat unconventional investment. Especially older, rarer, and above all unopened sets that are no longer produced can sell on the secondary market years later for significantly more than originally.
I myself have several older Lego Star Wars sets at home whose value today might be quite interesting. Unfortunately, I obviously didn't buy them back then with an investment plan, and most of them definitely didn't stay unopened. 😅
It's just a shame that Lego itself is still a private company and we can't buy its shares on the stock exchange; the company has a great product that appeals to both kids and adults.
Do any of you have older Lego at home that already has interesting value? Or do you even buy some sets specifically as an investment? Do you invest in anything outside traditional financial markets?
