Nvidia $NVDA sent $3.5 billion to MediaTek today, and the interesting part for me is mainly where the whole chip market is heading.

MediaTek is mostly known for chips in phones. But now it's trying to get much more into AI data centers, and Nvidia is supposed to help with that. MediaTek will be able to use NVLink Fusion technology and develop its own AI chips that can be easily connected with Nvidia systems.

And that, in my opinion, is perhaps the most interesting part of the whole thing. Nvidia evidently doesn't want to make money just by selling its GPUs to everyone. It's trying to be part of the infrastructure even when companies start designing their own AI chips.

Nvidia is already collaborating with MediaTek on chips for computers and cars, so the shared areas are gradually increasing.

How do you view these Nvidia investments? Do you like how it's gradually building a position practically everywhere around AI?
