The USA, Denmark and Greenland are concluding a new agreement. Stocks linked to Greenland are soaring!📈

The United States, Denmark and Greenland have reached a new agreement intended to significantly strengthen security in the Arctic while increasing the American presence on the strategically important island. The agreement is to be signed on Tuesday during the UN General Assembly in New York.

According to information released so far, the United States will gain long-term access and broader options for military operations in Greenland. The agreement is also expected to include restrictions for non-NATO states – especially China and Russia – regarding military presence and certain sensitive investments. The exact wording of the agreement has not yet been published.

Denmark and Greenland also stress that the agreement does not change Greenland's sovereignty. Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said that it should respect the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Denmark and the right of the people of Greenland to self-determination. Denmark also expects NATO to play a greater role in the security of the entire Arctic.

For investors, the most interesting part concerns sensitive investments and strategic raw materials. Greenland has significant mineral potential and the United States has long been trying to reduce its dependence on China in critical raw materials. The agreement has therefore again attracted attention to companies with mining or energy projects on the island.

The market reaction was extreme. Greenland Energy ($GLND) rose approximately 170% during the day and at one point in premarket even exceeded +200%. Other companies linked to Greenland also rose sharply, such as Greenland Mines or Critical Metals $CRML .

For Greenland Energy itself, however, the agreement does not yet mean a specific contract or new revenues. The current rise in the stock is primarily a bet by investors that greater strategic US interest in Greenland could in the future accelerate investment and development of local energy and raw material projects.

The Tuesday signing and the release of more detailed terms of the agreement could therefore be another important moment not only for Greenland, but also for companies whose projects are directly linked to the island.
