🔥 Akamai lands massive AI contract with Anthropic worth 11.6 billion USD

Akamai $AKAM signed a seven-year deal with Anthropic for cloud infrastructure for AI workloads. Shares jumped roughly 22% in after-hours trading following the announcement.

• Duration: 7 years

• Anthropic may acquire up to a 5% stake in Akamai

• Akamai has already announced additional multi-year cloud contracts worth more than 2.8 bn USD this year

For us, the interesting part is that the AI boom is no longer just about Nvidia or AMD. More and more money is flowing into cloud infrastructure, connectivity and data centers — exactly where Akamai wants to grow.

Of course, it will be important to watch what margins Akamai actually makes on this and how much capital it will have to invest in infrastructure. But a contract this large can significantly change the company's growth profile.
