šŸ”„ Synopsys +10%! AI is starting to change chip development itself

Synopsys $SNPS shares jumped about 10% yesterday after a very strong investor day.

-Revenue outlook for FY2027: $11.1–11.2 billion

-Expected EPS: $19.04–19.12

- Company targets roughly 15% annual revenue growth through 2030

- AWS signed a contract with Synopsys worth more than $1 billion

-Synopsys also announced a partnership with OpenAI on the GPT-Synopsys model

The OpenAI collaboration is, in our view, very interesting. The goal is to use AI directly in chip design and shorten work that can currently take weeks or months.

For us, Synopsys is another example that the AI boom can benefit not just the chipmakers themselves. Companies without whose software those chips wouldn't exist at all can also play a big role.

Do you hold Synopsys in your portfolio? And do you like this kind of AI exposure? šŸ‘‡

Looking at the chart, the stock has experienced these rapid rises before. And there are quite a few of them. A price around $540 usually sends the price down. Will it be strong enough this time?

I first really noticed $SNPS when the company went through that drop last year at the turn of August and September. I didn't know this, though, thanks! Do you own $SNPS stock?

We don't have it yet, but we will definitely keep an eye on it.

Synopsys is interesting mainly because it doesn't have to bet on a single winner of the AI race. Its software is needed by virtually all major players in the semiconductor industry. Moreover, if AI can significantly speed up chip design, it could open up further growth opportunities for the company.
