Nikkei enters bear market as Asian stocks tumble after US chip rout

🚨 Asia catches the AI contagion — Nikkei just entered a bear market.

Japan's Nikkei 225 closed down 6.0% at 57,411, more than 20% below its June peak. Korea's KOSPI fell 6.0% after an earlier plunge exceeding 8% triggered a circuit breaker. SoftBank slid about 11.6%.

The selling follows Thursday's US chip rout: Nasdaq -5.5%, SOXX -12.25%.

🟢 Bull case: A sharp selloff and an early Nasdaq futures bounce could signal selling exhaustion—but today's US jobs report is still ahead.

🔴 Bear case: Data-center regulation fears and questions about AI investment returns could keep hardware and semiconductor stocks under pressure.

Buy the Asia/AI dip, or wait for payrolls and more clarity?
