Update on my Chevron (CVX) position — Reasons for holding and key risks
I'd like to share an update on my position in Chevron Corporation $CVX, which currently represents 4.2% of my total portfolio. The target price is set at approximately $187, offering potential capital appreciation along with an attractive dividend yield (historically around 4%).
For me $CVX isn't attractive for growth or dividends, but it's a good stock for conservative and dividend investors. I'm very interested to see whether the business will be affected by the situation in Venezuela.
Shares of $CRM have fallen by more than 30% over the past year, and many investors see this as an interesting opportunity. I also personally think the current valuation is attractive, but the question remains whether these companies can recover in the long term or whether AI will gradually replace them.
What do you think — does $CRM have a chance to make a comeback, or has AI... Read more
I had it on my watchlist for about half a year, but I decided not to open a position for one reason — I didn’t like the momentum, which later proved to be true. From a longer-term perspective, though, that momentum doesn’t play a role. It’s not that important whether analysts suspect something or not — their predictions create momentum, and that determines the direction and momentum of the stock price in the short term.
Do you have any ETFs in your portfolio that focus on a single sector?
I'm considering removing $CNDX.L because it overlaps with $CSPX.L, and instead I'd buy another ETF, ideally one focused on, for example, energy, cybersecurity, or the space sector.
I own NUKL.DE (uranium and nuclear technologies). Since the beginning of 2025 I’ve been DCA-ing the same amount every week and I plan to continue this year. I’m currently up about 60%.
My investment thesis isn’t particularly sophisticated. To me, nuclear energy is an absolute cornerstone for any advanced, energy-hungry country. Also, the expansion of data centers—which require an enormous amount of stable electricity without large fluctuations—is a perfect fit for this sector.
If anyone has a different opinion, I’d love to hear it.
Could I ask for some advice? I would like to cancel my daughter's building savings account and move the funds into ETFs, because the account maintenance fees and the 2,000 CZK state contribution seem meagre compared to what they could earn in indices over the next 13 years. I opened it back when I knew nothing about investing and I don't want to take on greater... Read more
I’ve held the stock for about 3 years and have practically seen no profit. Only now, after a long time, have I finally come out of a loss to break-even / a slight gain. Honestly, I’m getting tired of holding it — it feels like the capital is kind of dead there. I could find more interesting picks to move it into, and generally I’m... Read more
I left the consumer sector for exactly this reason. Apart from a few bright exceptions like $WMT or $COST, which are practically valued like big tech, it's more or less boring there for several years for a meager 2.5% dividend. Moreover, these companies have had problems since COVID — plus shifting consumer preferences, competition, wage pressure, squeezed margins, and ESG/woke nonsense.

I don't know the company at all, but it seems to me like a worse version of $SOFI. Do you have its shares in your portfolio?

It's becoming a value stock and probably won't see any extreme growth. If you want higher returns, you'll have to choose different stocks.
