Guys, how do you see $BRK-A stock after the deaths of our legends Warren and Munger? After all, they've both had some years under their belts and surely that day will come sooner or later. Will that change your approach to investing in this company? Do you think it will move Berkshire stock downward in any fundamental way?

Thanks for the views. :)

I'm definitely going to be sorry and it's probably not going to be the same as before, but I think they will choose their successor carefully.

These two are sure to pick the right successor. If it turns out to be similar to, say, Apple, it won't be a bad choice.

Although it will be a very sad day, one day it will be all of our time.

I would say there will be some panic, but then things will stabilize again. People will see that Buffett's successor will do well.

As long as BRK owns assets that will make me a decent profit, there is no reason to change the strategy and it doesn't matter who acquired them there. Those companies operate independently, they have their own management in which BRK does not interfere. BRK energy's strategic decisions have gone outside of this pair and the insurance companies have also been mandating for quite some time. Portfolio managers have been buying a lot of the stock for a few years now and they've certainly learned a few tricks from them, so there's no reason to think they'll do worse than the rest of the hedge funds (at worst they can safely beat them by buying sp500:) It's certainly possible that the price will fall in the short term, but that's happened repeatedly and will continue to happen, so I wouldn't be particularly worried about an exit. Anyone who believes BRK has a quality portfolio and the right company culture then nothing will change for them.

If the share price then falls, that will be an opportunity. Greg Abel is Buffett's pick and shouldn't make any significant difference, he is very capable.

Add yourself to the views here. Unfortunately I missed out on going into them at the beginning of investing. Today I know I would like to treat them as simply ETFs and invest in them every month. Now the price seems higher to me, so I take it that unfortunately when one of them goes, or both, the price will probably react to the death by dropping, but I also think only for a while. They certainly have their capable successors. They are kings that will be written about and talked about for a long time to come, but the company will surely go on. 😊

If the price drops a lot, I'll consider buying.

I think in the short term, after their death or the death of one of them (specifically the Omaha Oracle), the price will go down. In the long term, there are a lot of smart people on the board who have been trained at their "school of investing". So the kingdom will not perish even if the king is dead...
