Elon Musk launches his next project, an AI startup
Elon, as of July he is about to become the richest man on the planet again, is launching his next startup xAI. Next, we'll do a recap of his ventures.
Elon Musk recently announced that his latest startup, xAI, will focus on artificial intelligence. According to the company's website, the goal of xAI is to "understand the true nature of the universe." The xAI team will be led by Musk and others who have previously worked with OpenAI, DeepMind, Google Research, Microsoft Research and Tesla.
Since there's not much more news on this one yet, let's see what other companies make him the world's richest man with a net worth of $254 billion.
Tesla. $TSLA It is the world's largest automaker by market value . The company makes and designs all-electric vehicles (EVs) and energy generation and storage systems. Its vehicles include sedans and compact and midsize SUVs. Musk has a 13% ownership stake in Tesla worth $108 billion. In 2022, Tesla's total revenue was $81.46 billion.
SpaceX. Musk is also co-founder and CEO of SpaceX, a rocket manufacturing company that counts NASA among its clients and helps supply the space station. SpaceX is worth $137 billion as of January 2023 and has raised $2.2 billion in 2022, making it the most valuable private company in the country. Musk owns 42% of SpaceX, which launched its 200th rocket in January and has more than 1 million subscribers to the Starlink internet service. (Unfortunately, this company is not yet listed on the stock market; from a personal perspective, it wouldn't be that interesting investment-wise, but I'd buy it for a small sum because I'm a space fan).
Twitter. In April 2022 Musk bought Twitter for $44 million after threatening a hostile takeover. The deal was finalized in October 2022 after Twitter sued Musk for trying to back out of the deal. His takeover was controversial because he fired half of the company's employees and added a paid subscription service ($8 a month) for anyone who wanted to verify their account. Musk owns about 79% of Twitter. The company's value is about $20 billion as of March 2023.
The Boring Company. Musk is also the founder of The Boring Company, a tunneling company that aims to "solve transportation" by building freight tunnels. The company raised $675 million in April 2022 in a deal worth $5.7 billion, according to Forbes.
Neuralink. Musk also co-founded a company called Neuralink, which designed a "brain-computer interface," a chip that can be implanted in the brain. Neuralink is worth about $5 billion, according to Reuters.
Well, whatever Musk is, I bow down to him, he's just a machine that won't stop, he could be on an island somewhere enjoying himself, travelling, just all the luxuries of life but he just keeps going on and on. What about you friends, how do you perceive him as a person, what do you think about his achievements? 😊 And did $TSLA make a nice return for any of you? 💵
It's interesting 😁
I'm not that interested in Tesla anymore, but I'll be following Spax X, Twitter and I find Neuralink very interesting. I'm also looking forward to and interested in AI.
Now I'm watching to see what happens to Twitter... When it turns into X. Somehow I can't imagine it, even though I like the whole idea of the X platform.
Yeah yeah I bought Tesla before the first split (when construction started in China), realized a nice profit a few times🚀 and still hold the original number of shares. That's how I imagine 🚀 is supposed to work. And contrary to what I wrote a few months ago https://bulios.com/status/93172 I'm beginning to think the potential 🚀 hasn't run out yet, on its way to the moon it hasn't yet lit the third gear 🤞
No recommendation just an opinion.
Nice... if there's anyone I trust in AI, it's this guy :)
