SAM ALTMAN AND HIS NEW POSITION
The ousted CEO of OpenAI will lead the artificial intelligence research team newly established by Microsoft.
A day after the announcement that OpenAI's board of directors had decided to terminate Sam Altman as CEO and the subsequent resignation of co-founder Greg Brockman, CEO Satya Nadella took to Platform X to announce that both Altman and Brockman were moving to Microsoft.
The tech giant, which invested $13 billion in OpenAI and provided cloud services to the company, will hire Sam Altman as head of its artificial intelligence research team.
Altman was dismissed over concerns about his commitment to OpenAI's mission to provide safe and beneficial AI, according to people familiar with the matter.
Altman retweeted Nadella's post with the comment, "The mission continues".
Interesting, but the important thing is that it somehow got done:) well played
