Operating margin strength - better than expectations 💸

Amazon shows that it has other levers to optimize margins, including its e-commerce and advertising divisions, which can generate significant revenue. 📈 In addition, the company is betting heavily on innovation in artificial intelligence - a segment that Amazon CEO Andy Jassy says is "a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity." 💡
Massive investment in the future of AI - including growing capital expenditure 💵
Amazon is ready to invest billions in AI to stay at the forefront of the market. It expects $75 billion in capital spending in 2024 and even more in 2025. Jassy explained that the growing demand for AI requires major investments in data centers, network infrastructure, and specialized hardware for AI accelerators. "We're going into this ahead of time so that we're ready to provide the best service to our customers when they need it," he added. 🌐🤖
Technology sector outlook
Big players such as Alphabet, Microsoft and Meta have seen mixed reactions to their investments in AI, with Meta announcing significant growth in capital expenditure for 2025. However, Amazon's approach of focusing on long-term growth and a clear strategy shows that even in a volatile environment, the company has solid fundamentals and a commitment to achieving healthy margins in AI. 🔍
What is your opinion of Amazon?
A great company that still has great potential. Somehow I haven't followed Amazon much. Maybe I feel like they aren't particularly different or better at something.
I've had $AMZN on my watchlist for a while now, but I'm still waiting for a better price. It would take some more downside and I would probably buy at that point.
I don't follow Amazon much, I find $GOOG or $META much better and more interesting.
Amazon is a great company and the results are great. I don't have $AMZN stock in my portfolio unfortunately, but if the stock were to drop significantly I would buy.
