Few topics are as popular as space conquest. We're lucky enough to be living in a time when I'm really just one step away from a big breakthrough. But one of the biggest players has shown that even such an interesting industry doesn't always have a bed of roses.

I don't think this bet worked out for Branson.

What is Virgin Orbit anyway?

Virgin Orbit $VORB is an American space company founded in 2017. It is a subsidiary of the Virgin Group, which is owned by British businessman Sir Richard Branson. Virgin Orbit's main goal is to provide access to orbit for satellites and other space payloads using mobile space shuttles.

The company uses the LauncherOne shuttle, which is attached to a Boeing 747 aircraft, to launch satellites into orbit. This launch method helps reduce the cost of space missions and allows faster and more flexible access to orbit.
