Elia Group SA/NV is a Belgian energy company specializing in electricity transmission. Founded on June 28, 2001, through the merger of CPTE and a part of Electrabel responsible for the high-voltage network, Elia owns and operates the entire Belgian high-voltage grid (150–380 kV) and approximately 94% of the medium-voltage network (30–70 kV). In Germany, it operates through its subsidiary 50Hertz Transmission, holding an 80% stake.
