In my portfolio I have both $NU and $SOFI. The reason is clear to me: each operates in a different market — $NU, as you wrote, is a leader in Latin America; they’re really pushing and growing at a decent pace. I bought $SOFI gradually around $7, so I have an established position and I don’t intend to add at the current price. We’ll see what stance the new Fed chair takes, but in the long term I see both $SOFI and $NU as very interesting opportunities.

MELI is a great stock, but I’ve never bought it simply because, as they say, it’s the “Amazon of South America” and I already have Amazon in my portfolio. Besides, Amazon does a lot more than MELI, which is really mainly a marketplace and fintech. The reaction is overblown — the growth chart MELI has is rare to see, but so far I’ve tended to prefer something else. I still have it on my watchlist, and if it falls to an “irresistible” price I’ll consider entering.
One more downside: the price of a single share is just quite high; a stock split would do them a lot of good — I don’t know why they haven’t done one yet.

PayPal (for investors more like PainPal) reported very poor numbers and the stock plunged by roughly 20% yesterday. I think the company will have a very hard time now and won’t erase this loss easily. I don’t own the shares, because I’ve seen it as a speculation from the start and I don’t see any vision or solid fundamentals.

Well, I tried to ask myself what PayPal would have to do or undertake for sentiment to turn enough that its shares would head higher and sustain that trend. Something competitors can't reach, or something that would give PayPal the chance to move up for a reasonable period. I'm afraid AI isn't it—everyone's invoking ecosystems these days. Is there a potential entry of a strong partner that would shake things up? Any advantage compared with the rest of the world? I don't see anything like that. Do you know of anything?
