We haven't talked about Russia and the economy or stocks for a long time. I know there were a few people who owned stocks. Do you still have them? It's just that I came across an interesting article about how their economy is slowly going down the tubes, so if any brave souls still own them.
Here's a little summary of the state of Russia's economy 👇
Great thanks for the recap. This is exactly the information in a few sentences that I needed to get some idea of where Russia stands. Otherwise the sentence " clear sanctions don't work, wink😉" is great😁.
Microsoft $MSFT has signed an agreement to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation following Activision Blizzard's acquisition of $ATVI. The agreement to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation could further ease concerns about the impact of the acquisition on competition.
But will it be enough or will they find something else? 🙄
Since I own $MSFT stock I like the acquisition, I like how Microsoft is developing the video game market, their cloud gaming is something great. I feel a little bit like Microsoft messed up with their Xbox, Sony is definitely better at consoles, that's why Microsoft is trying to attract people with cloud gaming where you really only need fast internet and a newer TV. I'm currently holding and don't plan on selling.
I quite enjoy watching analysts' predictions. For example, for such $ENPH, which I bought in the range of $155-165, analysts gave a neutral - sell rating. Today we can see the share price is a nice $182 and now they are starting to talk about ENPH being a clear Buy 😅 ...Therefore, I don't rely on predictions.
I may not invest $TSLA in Tesla, but this is really something! Tesla has begun talks with the Indian government on an investment proposal to set up an automotive plant in the country with an annual capacity of up to 500,000 electric vehicles.
Why did 3M $MMM stock appreciate significantly yesterday?
Unfortunately, there is no progress in the earplug lawsuit. The reason for the rise is that analysts at Bank of America upgraded their rating on the stock from Underperform to Neutral, citing a number of "near-term positives." Let's take a little look at their report.
Growth is great, but we're still hovering around that $100 zone. One day we're above, one day we're below. We're waiting for something bigger here. But when it comes, the move will be worth it. Inflation won't have that big of an impact on this stock (think today's results), but earnings might.
Most Asian stocks rose sharply today on expectations that China is close to completing its rate hike cycle for this year, while the prospect of further stimulus measures from China following weaker economic data is also supporting growth.
Whose results will you be watching this week? For me, it's definitely JPMorgan $JPM, which I continue to hold in my portfolio. Analysts here are expecting year-over-year earnings per share growth (about 30%) and sales up about 20% from last quarter. That doesn't look bad at all, so I'm hoping it turns green on Friday.
Berkshire Hathaway $BRK-B announced that it has acquired additional shares of oil company Occidental Petroleum Corp $OXY, increasing its stake to more than 25%.
Great news, I've been overbought recently too as they were down quite a bit so hopefully they'll go up already, but I trust them, if Buffett, so do I. 😁
Yesterday, we saw $NIO stock shoot up more than 11%.
This is because the company's CEO, Li Qiang, predicted at the World Economic Forum on Tuesday that China's economy will grow faster in Q2 than the 4.5% rate it grew at in Q1, and further claimed that it is on track to achieve annual growth of around 5%.
In addition to Qiang's overall bullish view on the Chinese economy,... Read more
As of June 26, Nio $NIO has 1,501 battery exchange stations in China. I note that at the beginning of June it was 1,448, so it is expanding nicely infra in China as can be seen in the image below.
In an intermediate clinical trial, the highest dose of Eli Lilly's experimental orforglipron $LLY pill led to a 14.7% weight loss in obese or overweight people after 36 weeks, setting a new milestone in the race to develop effective anti-obesity pills.
I think it will be appreciated by far more people than just the Americans... imagine what results you could achieve if you ate right, exercised + supported it with similar pills? What normally takes you a year you could have in a few weeks... :)
NIO $NIO has signed a share subscription agreement with CYVN Holdings, which will invest approximately $1.1 billion through the purchase of NIO shares. The two companies have also agreed to cooperate on international trade 👌
I wrote an article about it yesterday and today 1/2 of the problems are solved and $MMM stock is up less than 5% so far. I like it that way! 😄
3M has committed to pay up to $10.3 billion over the next 13 years to support PFAS remediation for public water suppliers (PWS) in the US. Now all we have to do is sort out the earplugs and we're done. As I wrote yesterday, the stock is... Read more
