Amazon $AMZN+0.9% in talks to offer free mobile service to Prime subscribers in the U.S.

This news immediately negatively impacted telecom stocks such as $TMUS+0.7%, $VZ+0.8% and $T-0.3%.
According to YahooFinance, Amazon has been talking to wireless carriers about offering low-cost, or possibly free, nationwide mobile phone service to Prime subscribers. Negotiations have reportedly been ongoing for over a month and Amazon has been communicating with all of the aforementioned companies and $DISH+1.9%.
It is $DISH+1.9% that could benefit the most from this collaboration as it is trying to compete with the remaining companies and is already working with Amazon in the AWS segment. That's also why DISH stock is the only one up 15% compared to the others.

Great, thanks for the report. The news is great, however I would need some downside to buy the stock :)

If Amazon were to really engage significantly and successfully in this sector, its name will definitely pull in new users. It's actually a great business model when you have a platform where you sell a phone and a service straight to it.

Amazon can offer it, but the infrastructure will still have to be provided by the operators, right? So I don't understand why they're dropping

Personally, I don't like the way Amazon and other giants are literally eating up individual segments, but it's great news for the stock

Cool report from $AMZN+0.9% shows he doesn't want to be left behind and he definitely has room to grow, super hold on. 😊

Will that be the reason to have Prime? I guess so, some people will definitely get used to it, there's a lot under Prime and those benefits too.

Wow! I was wondering why it's going down like that today. I took advantage of it and bought VZ, I don't think they will be in danger.

If these operators drop a lot, I'd probably buy them. I don't believe it would hurt them much in terms of margins.

Well Amazon :) This is going to bring a strong ripple to the operator ponds!
