Warren Buffett is a name that is not lost in today's investment world. His company, Berkshire Hathaway, is known around the world and is closely watched by those interested in the financial markets. What changes has Buffett made to their portfolio for the 4Q of 2023 and what direction is Buffett and his team taking for their investments?

Buffett's company Berkshire Hathaway $BRK-Bdecided to strengthen its stake in several companies during the last quarter of last year. One of these companies is Sirius XM Holdings $SIRI, a satellite radio provider where Berkshire now holds more than 40 million shares.

Another major company is Chevron $CVX, where Berkshire has increased its stake to more than 126 million shares..

The company has also expanded its stake in Occidental Petroleum $OXY during the fourth quarter of 2023 and continues to make acquisitions this year. Their stake, which stood at 243.7 million shares at the end of 2023 , increased to more than248 million shares at the beginning of February 2024 . These moves show the confidence Buffett and his teamhave in the future performance of these companies and the industry.

On the other hand, Berkshire Hathaway also sold some of its shares during this period. One such example is Apple $AAPL, where Buffett reduced his stake by just over one percent, which meant selling about 10 million shares.

The second company is HP $HPQ, a computer maker where nearly 80 million shares were sold . These moves indicate a reassessment of the portfolio and a response to current market conditions.

Buffett and his team are carefully choosing which companies to invest money in. Their decisions show which companies they think will be successful in the future. While it can be tricky, tracking what Buffett does with his company's money, it can be an inspiration to people who want to invest in stocks.
