AT&T $T, one of the leading global telecommunications companies, has risen over the years to become a key player in the world of telecommunications, currently holding the top spot, with Verizon $VZ right behind . AT&T's network provides a wide range of services, including mobile and landline, internet, television and other digital... Read more
Today's developments in the stock market are fascinating: U.S. stocks are rising again and technology companies are back in the lead! 🖥️⚙️
Right at the opening bell, U.S. stocks started rising, leading S&P 500 index to another record. Investors are expressing optimism about economic developments and are expecting interesting results that could indicate the rise of technology... Read more
Investors, which company's results will interest you this week?
I will be most interested in the results of $ASML, $VZ, $MMM and $V. I'm very interested to see how it turns out and I'm looking forward to it as there could be some interesting buying opportunities.
How do you perceive the shares of telecommunications companies nowadays? For example, $VZ$TMUS or $AMT? The stock has suffered quite a bit in recent months. Personally, I don't invest in this sector because I don't find it that exciting and I don't even see that much potential there and what's more, I don't understand it. Can stocks in this sector return to their peaks in your... Read more
I totally agree with you and see it the same way. I don't see the potential there, I don't find the stock very attractive and I also don't understand the sector very well :D
I know that many of you may find the declines in $T and $VZ in recent days tempting given the dividend, etc., but while I don't want to advise anyone, I would be very cautious here and think twice about this investment. Why?
I'll take advantage of the great news on Bulios and quote flash news:
Verizon, AT&T, Lumen - Most telecom companies are seeing declines since reports surfaced that they were installing potentially dangerous lead-covered cables on poles, in the ground and under water. So they will likely have to take costly steps to settle.
This case could be quite costly in terms of repairing the damage. I would stay away and watch the whole thing for now, although some may find the drop interesting.
So I added a rather nice amount to the $VZ yesterday. At the moment, I don't find $T bad either, if it shows it can get out of a bad situation. But there is plenty of time there. Have you guys ever bought Verizon now? Or are you still waiting for a lower price? How much?
So I find operators in general pretty "dead"... and Amazon is starting to get into the US operators now and I'd be afraid of that... So for me, Verizon no...
How do you view the stocks of mobile providers? There are a lot of brands in the market, but $TMUS and $VZ have something extra.
T-mobile is up quite a bit right now and is holding its stock valuation with steady results. Margins may not be that great, but the interesting thing is that almost 42% of the company is privately held. Do you have any shares from this sector?
I don't completely 100% like any of the three major telecom companies, but I do have $VZ in my portfolio. I'd like to see some change in leadership here.
Amazon $AMZN in talks to offer free mobile service to Prime subscribers in the U.S.
This news immediately negatively impacted telecom stocks such as $TMUS, $VZ and $T. According to YahooFinance, Amazon has been talking to wireless carriers about offering low-cost, or possibly free, nationwide mobile phone service to Prime subscribers. Negotiations have reportedly been ongoing for... Read more
I somehow can't stop rolling my eyes that it's still going up and I wonder if it will still continue after this week;)
