Shares of $PYPL are down as much as 7% in extended trading. The company reported missed operating margin estimates of 21.4%, estimate of 22%. Conversely, the company's revenue was slightly above analysts' estimates, coming in at $7.29 billion versus $7.27 billion. Earnings per share were also higher than expected at $1.16 versus $1.15.
I already looked at the company and did some analysis but then I forgot about this company, so thanks for reminding me :). Around that $60 I would probably think about buying it.
What caught my eye today was the movement of $MU stock up 7.5% and they didn't announce any results. I read that they are planning an investment in India, but I couldn't find anything else anywhere. Does anyone know of any news?
Micron Technology has announced plans to invest up to $825 million in a new semiconductor assembly and test facility in Gujarat, India. The factory will be built in Sanand, near Ahmedabad in Gujarat.
The investment is part of the Indian government's efforts to strengthen the country's semiconductor manufacturing capabilities. The government has offered Micron a number of incentives, including 50% fiscal support of the total project cost and incentives representing 20% of the total project cost from the state of Gujarat.
The new factory is expected to create up to 5,000 new direct jobs at Micron and 15,000 jobs in the community over the next few years. Operations are scheduled to begin in 2025.
...That doesn't look bad. Having the government of India on your side is nice.
Shares of arms companies have been rising since the start of the war in Ukraine. For example, shares of the largest giant $LMT have risen by up to 20% since the beginning of the conflict. As orders from all over the world increase, so, of course, do arms companies' sales.
Sadly, the arms industry has been experiencing huge orders lately.
I'm posting an update on the Meyer Burger solar company, which I've written about several times and see potential in.
Meyer Burger announces a new 2GW solar cell production line in Colorado Springs, USA. These cells will supply its solar panel manufacturing plant in Goodyear, Arizona. Production is scheduled to begin in Q4 2024.
The new production line will employ 350 skilled... Read more
The European Investment Bank provides €45 billion for climate-neutral technologies.
The European Commission has selected 41 projects through which the EU is committing €3.6 billion to bring innovative technologies to market in the energy intensive, hydrogen, renewable energy and energy storage and renewable energy component manufacturing sectors.
The EU is lagging behind in technology in general and relatively long term, if it throws these sums at solar panels and similar green "climate neutral" nonsense without further investment in normal technology, then it has no chance of catching up with the US and eventually the world.

Today is a national holiday in the USA and there is no trading. Yesterday trading was shortened until 19:00 our time.
It always surprises me and I wonder what is going on that the markets are not trading. How will you use the day off and what news will you be watching? Do you follow any markets other than the U.S. market?
I would also like to know the answer to the question of what to expect from the market, but now it's an unreal goulash, it seems to me, the market does pretty much whatever it wants regardless of what's going on around it,
We recently talked in the comments about how old you plan to retire and how you will enjoy your time off. I also want to ask at what age did you become interested in investing and if you could give yourself some top advice what would it be?
A lot of beginners and myself find the advice of more experienced people very helpful. Thanks for sharing your experiences... Read more
The US stock market is closed today for a national holiday, so we have a long weekend. The Swiss stock exchange is also closed. Tomorrow the stock exchange is open for normal trading hours. What will you be watching today and this week? Do you have any European stocks that you are following?
So it's official, the largest video game acquisition of $ATVI by tech giant $MSFT has been given the green light by EU regulators. I believe Microsoft will appeal the rejection by UK regulators. Already this "war" with the authorities seems to be coming to an end. What do you think of this deal?
These are such huge events for me that we will only be able to assess their consequences many years from now... so from my point of view they will not have any major impact on the price, which is here and now... and if they do, I wouldn't say positive for these two companies :) see. Blizzard and their HR cases with employees...

I didn't know this company. However, a share of 82% is already quite respectable. Thanks for the info and I'll definitely take a closer look at the company.
