I've been buying into REITs quite a bit in recent months. I have $O stock in my portfolio, which I try to buy below $60. More recently, I've added $VICI stock to my portfolio, which I've been buying below $30. It seems to me that REITs have been getting hammered quite a bit lately, so I've been overbought regularly and looking forward to the dividend coming :D.
Lately, I've been thinking about adding shares of VICI Properties to my portfolio, which focuses primarily on casinos, hotels, bars and golf courses. I am very attracted to this REIT as the fundamentals of this company are very solid and the payout ratio is approximately 70%, while for example REIT Realty Income $O has a payout ratio of approximately 220% and... What two companies would you recommend to a novice investor at this time? Obviously $GOOGL$AAPL etc is great, but those are at a great price right now. I say maybe $O might be a nice buy right now, or even $DIS.
I would probably recommend $AAPL and $CVS. However, I don't think you can say it like this. Everyone likes something different and every investor should do their own analysis and calculate the intrinsic value of the stock. So if someone wanted to invest in stocks, I would start with bluechips stocks.
The$O 's pretty nicely carved up now. What's the ideal entry price for you? I'm at the point now that I'd be lowering the average purchase price, and I'm quite tempted to add at least a little bit. How about you?
If you had to choose a REIT right now, which one would it be? $O is classic, I'm tempted by $LTC or maybe $MAIN. What do you think? I'm obviously aware of the risks associated with REITs.
A summary of the news over the last few days around the US.
Recession, recession, recession. We hear it over and over again, even if you plug your ears. I've been hearing it a lot lately, so let's see what the situation is. Recent statements from economic strategists.
The companies you listed have been on sale for a long time. I guess I'm fine with this situation, I'll just keep shopping cheap. I bought another $PFE today. Thanks for the recap!
Not long ago, everyone here was worried about REITs and the real estate market, but somehow that topic has died down. Anyway, I have and continue to hold $O stock with peace of mind, which incidentally announced another increase in its monthly dividend to $0.2555 per share, for an annual amount of $3.066 per share. This is the 121st monthly dividend increase for the common... Read more
Has anyone checked the performance against SPY? Yield including dividends for 1y,3y,5y,10y (1.45%, 19.5%, 50%, 124%) vs. SPY including dividends (18.55%, 50.6%, 71.8%, 223%)
How do you see it with REITs? In general, real estate is expected to go down. Theoretically, then even companies like Realty Income $O could go down a few % and it was a nice time to add as well.
$O $WPC $VICI $ABR but there are a bunch of quality REITs.
