I'll take advantage of the great news on Bulios and quote flash news:
Verizon, AT&T, Lumen - Most telecom companies are seeing declines since reports surfaced that they were installing potentially dangerous lead-covered cables on poles, in the ground and under water. So they will likely have to take costly steps to settle.
This case could be quite costly in terms of repairing the damage. I would stay away and watch the whole thing for now, although some may find the drop interesting.
I have shares of $GOOGL in my portfolio and would like to buy shares of $MSFT below. I agree with Peter and Luke, I also have more faith in Google and Microsoft.
You know Equinor? $EQNR Equinor is a Norwegian energy company engaged in the exploration, production, transportation and refining of oil, gas and other forms of energy.
Chatbot Bard by $GOOGL is now available in Europe. Finally. I have to say, though, that I've gotten so used to ChatGPT in the meantime that unless Bard offers better features, I have no reason to switch. However, I very much feel the absence of actual data with ChatGPT (the non-paid version). But that should change for the unpaid version in the near future.
I own one too and true, now that I read it, it's a really popular stock. Well, let's hope it's not just another "popular" flop. Nah, I'll add to the opinions that yes, if nothing goes wrong, it will definitely be elsewhere, higher, in those 2 years. 😊
We all know that the leader in alternative tobacco products is Philip Morris $PM. But today CEO Jacek Olczak said it doesn't make sense to keep selling cigarettes, including Marlboro, the world's most popular cigarette brand. "If you are still interested in old technology [like cigarettes], you should only see it in a museum." Philip Morris said it plans to generate more than... Read more
What you write here is interesting, but it is electronic smoking and electronic smoking... Considering iqos, it is in a word just bullshit. If a person smokes and wants to quit, there are two ways, either they have a strong will and quit right away, or they limit the number of cigarettes. Or the other option is to start vaping, and there it's a much healthier way to smoke because you can make the liquid yourself and it's a lot cheaper overall, and honestly it's kind of fun. Too bad PM didn't go that route and went through iqos. If they had gone through those liquids and developed some of those vaping devices and invented other things instead of their heated crap where it's very well known that tobacco is maybe not even something like that and instead of a filter mica ... 😂 I'm basing this on my own experience regarding vaping and on videos I've seen before about iqos and what has been discussed several times in various vape forums... Sorry for the verbage, but at least maybe someone will make a picture of well about it. The stock of course is bad there is no business about it and they have it well thought out and know how to just sell it to those people..
I was wondering how to comment on your post and in general, how to take it, if the question is, is it ethical to have a business in Russia, to invest in it, etc.? ...for me, why not. 😊 Honestly, and now I might pull down a wave of resentment on myself here, but I have nothing against Russia. On the contrary, I would be more afraid of Ukraine. It is an unstable state and always has been. Neither a regime, nor a proper democracy, nor communism. So something in between, corruption big etc. Russia, there the political regime is still the same. Yes, you could have long debates about where is better. For us, probably nowhere, but like where I'm with the Russians, even though I'm pro-west, I'm a capitalist and not a communist, but that's how the US is expanding. I don't blame Russia, how many times has the US said clearly, don't put bases near our borders, but they don't and they don't, the US keeps "shitting" on the world and they have peace on their territory. They create conflicts but mainly far away from them. Russia, it kind of holds its own, it doesn't fart all over the world. It has its territory, its resources, and what they do on their turf is their business. I would like to see the US if Russia started building bases in Mexico or elsewhere near the US border, they wouldn't like that either. Plus, tvl Europe here its hatred of Russia, but we can be happy for it, Russia fought, liberated a good part of Europe. Russia has direct resources that Europe needs. This will bring me back, I don't want communists here, I'm happy for open borders, freedom of enterprise etc ... but like overall what bothers me is that it is condemned when there is a different opinion, a different regime. Why, if it "suits" them and it's on their territory and they don't force it elsewhere ...why can't they also just deal normally with other politics. Benefit from trade relations etc... Honestly what is this comedy, nothing but business. I say, I don't lump all Ukrainians or Russians in the same bag and that is just it. But when I look at how the ones coming here and here are behaving now, it's disgusting and I would drive them back. I have nothing against those who were born here for example, I myself have a great friend who has lived here since he was a kid, worked in a factory and worked his way up through hard work ...just saying that I'm really tired of the hate and pigeonholing, Hate Russia. Sanctions etc. Fucking excuse me, what the Germans for example, nobody sees it, they started the war twice, committed horrible things to people and now they still set the direction of Europe. That has been forgotten. The economy here is totally shit, Russia has inflation below 3%, so who's better off I guess.
Apologies for the style, I've probably long since passed the point of this post altogether, but I find it good to express myself here as I feel we are a bunch open minded and not just "blind" sheep shouting hate with the crowd.
Is anyone following China more actively? On Friday I bought my first position in $BABA.
This week I am most likely going to buy $KWEB. For those who don't know, it's an ETF that's 50% Chinese tech companies, 25% retail,... (The largest share is made up of companies like Tencent, Alibaba, JD.com). In general Chinese stocks have been experiencing a longer term downturn, which... Read more
Volkswagen $VWAP.BR is in talks with Tesla $TSLA to transition to NACS.
Volkswagen Group and its brands are currently evaluating the implementation of the Tesla North American Charging Standard (NACS) for its North American customers. Electrify America, Volkswagen's electric vehicle charging network unit, has more than 850 charging stations with approximately 4,000 chargers in... Read more
Pfizer $PFE ends development of obesity drug due to side effects. 🔴
You may remember my recent post that talked about the positive test results of Pfizer's obesity drug.
Today our stock dropped over 4% right after the market opened on the news that the development of this drug was being abruptly terminated. Pfizer said it will instead focus on its other oral obesity drug,... Read more
When picking an ETF, be careful of the TER (total expense ratio) in the long run makes a huge difference in the outcome. I point this out because I see the India ETF discussed here often. These are the ones where we can run into higher ERs than we are used to with regular US ETFs. ❗
On the other hand, in the case of a shorter investment horizon, it will not make such a difference. Moreover, it assumes the same return, which is obviously not what the above-mentioned do not expect from investing in India - on the contrary, they expect a significant outperformance of classic mainstream ETFs. That's why they're in.
I've been adding more recently, but only a little to dilute it. Now I'm waiting too because as you say as long as rates keep going up, it's just bad for the reit industry there's probably still room for a fall. Otherwise $O is such a classic I have and it will definitely be the biggest position still in that sector for me. And then $WPC I also have and I'll be adding there too, but I'm watching for now.
Today was the Volkswagen $VWAP.BR conference where the CEO spoke about the future of the group.
In my opinion, nothing revolutionary or surprising was said. Rather, it confirmed the direction Volkswagen will take in the coming years. I got the impression from the conference that it was primarily aimed at shareholders, not to reveal any news.
Here I will highlight a few key pieces... Read more
What is your bad trait that holds you back as an investor?
For example, a good investor shouldn't act on their emotions and moods - they should be emotionally stable.
For example, I often try to pick the absolute price bottom. That's why I have missed many good opportunities. Lately, I've started addressing this with buying guidelines that I set in advance and don't move them.
This case could be quite costly in terms of repairing the damage. I would stay away and watch the whole thing for now, although some may find the drop interesting.
